Motzarella does seem to have a very good filtering system.

But I can see posts using the free news.aioe.org newserver. Looks like I'll
then be using news.aioe.org to read and post. No signup or logon is
required

I posted to their test domain and on the web portal they are all there. And
Blinky TS did reply above to one that apparently all can see but me!

But the news.aioe.org doesn't seem to exhibit this strangle phenomena.

Hmm, I didn't think of that. I'll have to check my AT&T account to see
if I can access the newsgroups from there.

Last I looked, I couldn't - I was restricted to accessing it only when I
was accessing it via their dialup account.

I would have a look at the news readers (client) setup, it is probally not
showing your posts.

aioe also gets filtered for spam and goes down more than motz.

You can with ATT/SBC Yahoo DSL. I've been accessing it for a year on
broadband. The server may change depending on where you are located.
Binaries are gone but regular groups are extensive. I am clueless as to
other AT&T customer plans.

Yeah - but you will not have access to the alt.* heirarchy. That is why I
dumped verizon last summer. Right now I'm on cable broadband (Charter) and
using Skype for phone service, at a savings of $120/mo.
